We now understand, Pluto is a Dwarf Planet

After a successful training of 16 astro-science ambassadors in July, the ambassador continued with second round of school outreach. This time they taught students and teachers on effective ways to use telescopes, integrate astronomy in the syllabuses and explain why Pluto known is a dwarf planet.

To date astro-ambassadors have conducted 24 outreach, reached about 48 teachers and about to 1000 students all together. The schools visited, benefit by gaining new ways of teaching science using astronomy, learned to use computer and telescopes as teaching resources and also received hand on activity book recommended by Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE).

The pictures slideshow below demonstrate how astro-science ambassadors are conducting outreach activities and enhance integration of astronomy in teaching and learning of science in Tanzania.
